The project data will be organised in the following folder system : One main folder for the each subproject : GaN nonlinear optics and Optical trapping
Each folder is organised in the following sub-folder system (not all may be used), each with a readme-txt file if necessary.
1 Fabrication and processing folder includes masks and processes used for clean room processing (Runcard, process flow diagram, same as the submitted to CMi). 2 Simulations folder includes simulation and driver files include finite-difference time domain (FDTD) and finite-element method (FEM) simulations, optical structure calculations as well as laboratory codes written using Matlab or the Python language. 3 Mechanical drawings folder includes drawings for the mechanical workshop and relevant information (photos, pictures, drawings). 4 Characterization folder includes general structural characterisation data of all samples produced during the work. Typical examples of structural characterisation techniques include, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE), X-ray diffraction spectra (XRD), stylus profiler data, reflectometry and optical microscopy as well. 5 Optical measurements folder includes optical spectroscopy data of all samples produced during the work. Typical examples of optical characterisation techniques include photoluminescence, reflectivity and transmission and other data such as Fourier imaging obtained in end-fire set-up. 6 Processed data folder includes sketches, drawings, figures and scientific papers.
As a general rule, the .txt files are preferred when possible for all categories above.
Metadata Two types of metadata will be considered within the frame of our project: that corresponding to the project publications and that corresponding to the published research data. For that reason, metadata will be included in a subfolder within the 6 Processed data subfolder.
In the context of data management, metadata will form a subset of data documentation that will explain the purpose, origin, description, time reference, creator, access conditions and terms of use of a data collection.
