Secure channelIn cryptography, a secure channel is a means of data transmission that is resistant to overhearing and tampering. A confidential channel is a means of data transmission that is resistant to overhearing, or eavesdropping (e.g., reading the content), but not necessarily resistant to tampering (i.e., manipulating the content). An authentic channel is a means of data transmission that is resistant to tampering but not necessarily resistant to overhearing.

Dans les réseaux informatiques, un point d'accès sans fil (WAP ou simplement AP de l'anglais [wireless] access point) est un dispositif qui permet aux périphériques sans fil de se connecter à un réseau câblé ou au réseau Internet à l'aide d'une connexion radio. Public-access televisionPublic-access television (sometimes called community-access television) is traditionally a form of non-commercial mass media where the general public can create content television programming which is narrowcast through cable television specialty channels. Public-access television was created in the United States between 1969 and 1971 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), under Chairman Dean Burch, based on pioneering work and advocacy of George Stoney, Red Burns (Alternate Media Center), and Sidney Dean (City Club of NY).
Free to airFree to air ou FTA est une formulation anglophone signifiant « à accès libre », ou « diffusé en clair » ou encore « à accès gratuit ». Ces termes techniques sont principalement employés en télédiffusion terrestre ou satellitaire analogique ou numérique pour désigner une chaîne ou un programme ne nécessitant pas d'abonnement payant. Un tel signal n'exploite donc aucun contrôle d'accès, ce qui permet de le visionner gratuitement. Par extension, un équipement (récepteur) dit Free to air désigne un appareil non équipé de circuits ou extensions de contrôle d'accès.
