Résumé

The architect behind Stockholm Town Hall, Ragnar Östberg (1866-1945), would have turned 150 years the 14th of July this year. Due to the focus of author's PhD research, she spent long time in Stockholm, especially at the Arkitektur –och designcentrum archive which she started a fruitful exchange with. There, she had the possibility to discover a large amount of interesting and, in some cases, unpublished material, which has been collected, thematically organized and critically analysed in her dissertation. Villa Geber (1911-1913) is actually one of the lesser-known instances of him as demonstrated by the little interest of the foreign critics so far, but it is appropriate to turn the spotlight on this valid example of Swedish domestic character in order to broaden the critical debate and introduce new standpoints as well.
