NéoprèneLe Néoprène, appelé d'abord Duprène est le nom de marque sous lequel la compagnie Du Pont de Nemours introduit dans l'industrie du caoutchouc en 1931 une famille de caoutchouc à base de polychloroprène. C'est le premier caoutchouc synthétique. Le latex de néoprène (famille d'émulsions aqueuses de chloroprène) fit son apparition en 1934. Trois sociétés ont déposé cette marque : Samaro à Beynost sous l'intitulé « Néoprène ST » ; Bostik sous l'intitulé « Colle Contact Néoprène » ; Henkel sous l'intitulé « Pattex Néoprène ».
Natural rubberRubber, also called India rubber, latex, Amazonian rubber, caucho, or caoutchouc, as initially produced, consists of polymers of the organic compound isoprene, with minor impurities of other organic compounds. Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia are four of the leading rubber producers. Types of polyisoprene that are used as natural rubbers are classified as elastomers. Currently, rubber is harvested mainly in the form of the latex from the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) or others.
