Map layoutMap layout, also called map composition or (cartographic) page layout, is the part of cartographic design that involves assembling various map elements on a page. This may include the map image itself, along with titles, legends, scale indicators, inset maps, and other elements. It follows principles similar to page layout in graphic design, such as balance, gestalt, and visual hierarchy. The term map composition is also used for the assembling of features and symbols within the map image itself, which can cause some confusion; these two processes share a few common design principles but are distinct procedures in practice.

Topological mapIn cartography, geology, and robotics, a topological map is a type of diagram that has been simplified so that only vital information remains and unnecessary detail has been removed. These maps lack scale, also distance and direction are subject to change and/or variation, but the topological relationship between points is maintained. A good example are the tube maps for the London Underground and the New York City Subway.
Free to airFree to air ou FTA est une formulation anglophone signifiant « à accès libre », ou « diffusé en clair » ou encore « à accès gratuit ». Ces termes techniques sont principalement employés en télédiffusion terrestre ou satellitaire analogique ou numérique pour désigner une chaîne ou un programme ne nécessitant pas d'abonnement payant. Un tel signal n'exploite donc aucun contrôle d'accès, ce qui permet de le visionner gratuitement. Par extension, un équipement (récepteur) dit Free to air désigne un appareil non équipé de circuits ou extensions de contrôle d'accès.
Pléiades (satellite)Pléiades est un couple de deux satellites optiques d'observation de la Terre. Les satellites Pléiades 1A et Pléiades 1B opèrent en véritable constellation sur la même orbite, à 180° l’un de l’autre. Parfaitement identiques, ils fournissent des produits optiques en très haute résolution dans un temps record, avec une capacité de revisite quotidienne. Les produits Pléiades sont distribués par Airbus DS Geo (anciennement Spot Image), filiale d'Airbus Defence and Space.
