Maria Giulia PretiMaria Giulia Preti received her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy) in 2013, after her M. Sc. (2009) and B. Sc. (2007) in Biomedical Engineering, as well at Politecnico di Milano. During her Ph.D., mentored by Prof. Giuseppe Baselli, she focused on advanced techniques of brain magnetic resonance imaging, in particular she developed a method of groupwise fMRI-guided tractography, that revealed to be useful in the in-vivo investigation of the pathophysiological changes across the evolution of Alzheimers disease. For this project, she had been collaborating full-time with the hospital Fondazione Don Gnocchi in Milan (Magnetic Resonance Laboratory). In 2011, she was awarded a Progetto Rocca fellowship from MIT-Italy and spent a visiting research period at the MIT and Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA), under the supervision of Prof. Nikos Makris, where she could focus on the anatomical study of specific neruonal bundles.
She has joined Prof. Van De Ville group at EPFL as a post-doc in 2013. Her current research aims at understanding the connections between brain functionality and brain microscopic anatomy by using advanced techniques of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. In particular, she is working on functional MRI, functional connectivity, diffusion tensor imaging and tractography, integration of MRI with other techniques (e.g. EEG), and the application of these methods to several clinical contexts, e.g., epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment, multiple sclerosis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Juan Carlos FarahJuan Carlos Farah received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University, completed studies in Computer Science at Stanford University, and a Master of Science in Computing at Imperial College London. Since 2017, Juan Carlos has worked as a researcher and software engineer at the Interaction Systems Group (REACT) of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He is the technical lead for the Graasp Ecosystem, a suite of native and web applications that support digital education activities and are the core technology behind the Horizon 2020 Next-Lab and GO-GA European Innovation Action Projects. As a part of these projects, Juan Carlos conducted research on privacy-preserving systems for technology-enhanced learning. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Robotics and Intelligent Systems at EPFL, focusing on human-computer interaction and the perception of anthropomorphic traits in intelligent conversational agents. As part of his teaching duties, he gives a yearly lecture on trust, privacy and reputation frameworks for social media platforms.
Jevita PotheegadooAvec un parcours de neuropsychologue clinicienne, j’apprécie beaucoup de travailler avec des populations cliniques. J’ai appris et continue à apprendre énormément auprès des patients que je rencontre, non seulement sur la pathologie qui les touchent, mais aussi sur la manière d’appréhender la recherche et la clinique.
Après une Licence en Psychologie à l’Université de Strasbourg (France), j’ai effectué en 2005 un Master Professionnel de Neuropsychologie clinique à l’Université de Caen Basse-Normandie (France). J’ai exercé comme neuropsychologue clinicienne en milieu hospitalier (unités de neurologie, et gériatrie), puis j’ai intégré le Département de Psychiatrie du CHU de Strasbourg. Alliant clinique et recherche, j’ai étudié au cours de ma thèse de Doctorat (soutenue en 2014) les troubles de la mémoire autobiographiques dans la schizophrénie (Unité INSERM). J’ai rejoint l’équipe du Prof. Olaf Blanke en 2016 en tant que collaboratrice scientifique.
Emanuela De FalcoI am a physicist by training, and I have been a researcher in the neuroscience field since 2014. During my neuroscience training, I worked with intracranial recordings from patients suffering from epilepsy. Here, I investigated declarative memory and the encoding of concepts in the human medial temporal lobes. Afterwards, I spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher working on high-density electrophysiological recordings from the medial prefrontal cortex of rodents and investigating neuronal population dynamics underlying complex behaviors.I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and a member of the Laboratory of Congitive Neuroscience (LNCO). My current research projects are centered around the investigation of the neural basis of bodily self-consciousness and its link to cognitive processes.
