This lecture covers the principles of code delay tracking in a GNSS receiver using a Delay-Locked Loop (DLL) with Early-Minus-Late (EML) tracking. It explains the coherent and non-coherent DLL discriminators, their block diagrams, and correlator outputs. The impact of signal dynamics on code tracking, generic receiver architectures, and carrier aiding of the code loop are discussed. The lecture also delves into the Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO) operation, multipath errors, and the Multipath Error Envelope (MEE) concept for evaluating multipath effects.
