This lecture covers the development of a hydroponic farming system in space, focusing on aeroponics, shelves with different nutrient concentrations, and an arm robot to operate movements. The system, named GrowBotHub, includes a carousel, arm controller, embedded Linux board, and network. The lecture also discusses the optimization of vegetable production through plant movement scheduling, using an objective function based on calories divided by time. Programming aspects are explored using LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python, with a user interface for controlling plant growth and data exchange between software. The lecture concludes with a simulation of the system in MATLAB, showcasing graphic results and data for the microcontroller.
