This lecture explores the creation of artificial colours through the manipulation of plasmonic nanoparticles, showcasing their stability and anti-counterfeiting properties. By altering the shape, size, and environment of the nanoparticles, a wide range of colours can be produced. The response of the colours can be controlled by adjusting the radius and period of the nanoparticles. Different materials and structures enable the generation of various colours, covering a significant portion of the CIE colour gamut. The lecture also delves into the saturation levels achievable with these artificial colours, demonstrating highly saturated hues. Various studies and simulations are referenced throughout the presentation, providing insights into the intricate process of colour generation.
