This lecture covers the principles of power amplifiers, focusing on the power dissipated by periodic signals with zero mean value. Topics include instantaneous power, average power, amplifier classes (B, AB, D, AD, C), impedance matching, and transistor polarization. The lecture also discusses amplifier efficiency, load lines, and maximum power conditions. Different amplifier configurations are explored, such as common emitter and collector, as well as the use of Darlington or MOS transistors in the output stage.
