Modeling: Urban Mobility Planning

This lecture covers the importance of modeling in urban mobility planning, including the benefits of using models for diagnosis, projection, and objective discussion. It explains the key elements of a model, such as coherent sensitivity to input variables and relevant results. The lecture focuses on the construction and implementation of the FRETurb model, a simulation model for urban freight transport. It details the data sources, indicators, and applications of FRETurb in various French cities. Additionally, it discusses the prospective simulation approach of SILOGUES, based on qualitative analysis and behavior change simulation. A case study of Lyon-Confluence project showcases different scenarios and their impacts on urban activities and transportation.
