This lecture covers the chemical reactions involving methane and oxygen to produce formaldehyde, carbon dioxide, and water. The instructor explains the stoichiometry, mass balances, and extent of reaction calculations. Emphasis is placed on determining process variable values, product stream component flow rates, and molar composition of the reactor output stream.
