This lecture introduces Envirobot, an anguilliform aquatic robot designed for pollution source tracking through self-guided sampling and analysis. The robot features modular design, miniaturized sensors, and new software concepts for self-guidance. It covers the development of sensors for conductivity, temperature, oxygen, pH, and biological signals. The lecture also discusses live Daphnia and bioluminescence sensors based on bacteria, highlighting their applications in pollution detection. Additionally, it explores field missions, adaptive navigation, and system benchmarking for environmental monitoring. Educational activities related to synthetic biology and sensor development are also presented.
