Lecture

Rethink Existing Infrastructures

Description

This lecture follows Alexandre REBOND, an architecture student at EPFL, as he explains the collaborative process between students from EWHA University in Seoul and EPFL in Lausanne to repurpose a 2.7 km underground gallery in Seoul. Starting with a conceptual approach, they developed and integrated their ideas into a simplified tunnel structure, eventually transforming the existing underground gallery into a new space for interventions. Dividing the gallery into 27 sections, each group of students incorporated their own programs, resulting in a collaborative 'Wire Frame' model displayed as a bench installation in Seoul.
