This lecture presents projects from the EPFL 2004 graduation ceremony, including topics such as control and synchronization with nonlinear dynamical systems for humanoid robotics, recovery from the loss of compactness in mathematics, analysis and prediction of tail-related risk measures for financial time series, development of protective means for the welding industry, differential A/D converter development, MEMS capacitors processing and characterization, and thermo-economic optimization of advanced thermodynamic cycles.
