The application of orthogonal sampling for parallel neural recording is presented in this paper. Orthogonal sampling enables reducing the number of the I Cs in conventional recording systems into one single unit. Consequently, the ADC bandwidth and dynamic e is effectively employed and shared between all the channels without any loss in the temporal information of the channels during s u piing, which is not the case of time-multiplexed ADCs. A 4-channel ne I recording system based on orthogonal sampling is implemented in a 0.18 um technology with a power consumption of 1.26 mu W per channel supplied at 0.8 V to validate the proposed methodology.
