Multi-material rail pad and method for manufacturing same

Abstract

The invention relates to a rail pad (10, lOa-v, 10α-η) comprising: a) a pad matrix (1) comprising a first material and b) at least one damping element (2) at least partially encapsulated or embedded in the pad matrix (1), said damping element (2) comprising or consisting of a second material, wherein the second material of the at least one damping element (2) has a damping factor tan delta > 0.5 in the audible frequency of 1000 Hz. Methods for producing the rail pad of the invention are also disclosed.
