Digital and Cognitive Musicology Lab
LaboratoryThe Digital and Cognitive Musicology Lab (DCML) at EPFL explores music from cognitive, computational, musicological, and psychological perspectives. By combining modern algorithmic methods, corpus research, music-theoretical expertise, and experimental approaches, the lab conducts research in musical structure-building, musicological corpus research, cognitive foundations of music, and computational modeling. The lab collaborates with a global network of experts in musicology, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience to deepen researchers' understanding of musical structures using cutting-edge technology.
