The Laboratory of Molecular and Neuroproteomic Neurobiology at EPFL, led by Associate Professor Hilal A. Lashuel, focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of protein misfolding and aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Huntington's, and ALS. Their research integrates chemical, biophysical, and molecular cellular biology approaches to understand the molecular and structural basis of these processes. The lab has made significant contributions to the field, including developing AI-driven methods for studying protein aggregates and innovative platforms like ClearTau for reconstructing Tau aggregates. They have also conducted studies on alpha-synuclein pathology, huntingtin aggregates, and the use of light therapy for neurodegenerative disorders. The lab collaborates with various partners in academia and industry to develop targeted therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
