The Photonics and Quantum Measurement Laboratory at EPFL, part of the School of Basic Sciences, focuses on Cross-Quantum Technology, exploring quantum mechanical processes in classical applications and fundamental science. They design and fabricate nanoscale quantum devices using superconducting resonators, nano- and micro-mechanical resonators, and integrated nonlinear photonic chips. Their research includes nonlinear photonic integrated circuit-based frequency combs, quantum opto- and electro-mechanics, and superconducting circuit quantum optomechanics. The laboratory's work has led to groundbreaking discoveries in optical frequency combs, quantum control of mechanical oscillators, and optomechanical systems. They have also developed high-density photonic integrated circuits, squeezed mechanical oscillators, and chaotic microcomb-based parallel ranging.
