Lysefjord

Lysefjord or Lysefjorden is a fjord located in the Ryfylke area in Rogaland county in southwestern Norway. The long fjord lies in the municipalities of Strand and Sandnes, about east of the city of Stavanger. The name means light fjord, and is said to be derived from the lightly coloured granite rocks along its sides. It is particularly well known for the huge Preikestolen cliff overlooking the fjord, which is a major tourist destination for the region.

Avaldsnes

Avaldsnes is a village in Karmøy municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located on the northeastern part of the island of Karmøy, along the Karmsundet strait, just south of the town of Haugesund. The village was an ancient centre of power on the west coast of Norway and is the site of one of Norway's more important areas of cultural history. The trading port of Notow and the Avaldsnes Church are two notable historic sites in Avaldsnes.

Hjelmeland

is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hjelmelandsvågen. Other villages in the municipality include Fister, Årdal, and Jøsenfjorden. Hjelmeland is known for its fruit (apples, pears, plums, cherries and strawberries) and fish production. Salmon has been important for the fish industry in Hjelmeland for a couple of decades, but white fish such as cod and halibut has increased its value in the latter years.

Rennesøy

Rennesøy is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It was merged into Stavanger municipality on 1 January 2020. It was located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Vikevåg. Other villages in Rennesøy included Askje and Sørbø. The municipality encompassed a number of islands on the south side of the Boknafjorden, north of the city of Stavanger. At the time of its dissolution, the municipality was the 404th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway.

Feøy

Feøy is a small island group in Karmøy municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island group lies west of the town of Haugesund and the island of Karmøy, southeast of the islands of Røvær, and northeast of the island of Utsira. The island has 49 permanent residents, plus a number of seasonal residents and visitors who rent vacation homes. The permanent residents who are not retired support themselves either through sheep farming, fishing, or by commuting to jobs on the mainland.

Vigrestad

Vigrestad is a village in Hå municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located about northeast of the southwestern coast of Norway, facing the North Sea. The village sits about southeast of the village of Varhaug and about northwest of the villages of Hæen and Brusand. Vigrestad Station is located on the Sørland Line, which runs through the village. The station is unmanned and only local trains stop there, not express or regional ones. The village has a population (2019) of 2,090 and a population density of .

Nedstrand

Nedstrand (locally, Stranda) is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is on the Nedstrand peninsula's southeast coast, at the confluence of the Nedstrandsfjorden and Vindafjorden. The village of Hindaråvåg lies just west of Nedstrand, and Nedstrand Church is there. The village has a population (2019) of 227 and a population density of . The village is a regular ferry stop on routes to the Sjernarøyane islands (across the Nedstrandsfjorden) and to Hebnes (across the Vindafjorden).

Brusand

Brusand is a village in Hå municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The small village is located on a small isthmus of land between the lake Bjåvatnet and the North Sea. The village sits along the Sørlandet Line (traditionally called the Jæren Line) and it is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail which stops at the Brusand Station. The village is about southeast of the village of Vigrestad and about northwest of the villages of Ogna and Sirevåg. Brusand is located next to the large Brusandstranda beach which has a nice sandy beach, plus a good-sized area of sand dunes.

Nedstrand (municipality)

Nedstrand is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality was located along the Nedstrandfjorden, an inner branch off the main Boknafjorden. The municipality encompassed the majority of the Nedstrand peninsula. Originally (from 1838 to 1868) it also included the Sjernarøyane islands and the western part of the island of Ombo in the fjord to the south. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Nedstrand. Nedstrand Church is located in Hindaråvåg, a small village just west of Nedstrand village.

Høle (municipality)

Høle or Høgsfjord is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The large municipality existed from 1865 until 1965. It was called Høgsfjord from 1865 until 1871 when the municipality was reduced in size and the name was changed to Høle. The municipality originally was quite large, surrounding both sides of the Høgsfjorden and Lysefjorden. Throughout its history, it included large parts of the present-day municipalities of Sandnes and Gjesdal. Since 1965, the area of Høle has been the borough of Høle in Sandnes municipality.
