This lecture discusses the specifics, performance, and flow structure of Rotating Disc-Spinning Disc Reactors (RS-SDR). It covers the enhanced mass and heat transfer rates, cooling/heating capacity, and the flow regimes in RS-SDR. The lecture also explores the Residence Time Distribution (RTD) in RS-SDR, the benefits, applications, and multistage arrangements of these reactors. Additionally, it delves into the use of RS-SDR for gas-liquid systems, mixing time, and the impact of flow structure on RTD. Furthermore, the lecture presents the Continuous Oscillatory Baffled Reactors (COBR), including their mixing principles, features, limitations, and evaluation. It concludes with discussions on the operational windows, key parameters, and correlations for heat and mass transfer coefficients in COBRs.
