This lecture covers the homogeneous equilibrated model for two-phase flow, the streamwise evolution of vapor quality in a heated pipe, Nukiyama's experiment, flow pattern maps for horizontal and vertical flows, convective boiling and heat transfer regimes, pool boiling regimes, and heat transfer coefficients. It also discusses the onset of nucleate boiling, nucleate boiling suppression, liquid film dry-out, superheated vapor, and the different phases of pool boiling. The instructor presents the concept of convective heat transfer in vertical flows, the description of boiling flow, and the heat transfer controlling mechanisms. Various models such as the homogeneous equilibrated model, Bankoff model, Wallis model, and Zubert Findlay model are explained.
