This lecture introduces the concepts of limit and continuity in the context of functions of several variables. It covers the definition of limit for a function of two variables, examples illustrating when limits do not exist, and techniques to show the existence of limits using polar coordinates. The lecture also discusses the continuity of functions in multiple variables, including properties of continuous functions and compositions of continuous functions. Various examples are provided to demonstrate the application of these concepts.
