This lecture covers the adjoint of multiplication operator, the definition of spectrum and resolvent set, the essential range of multiplication operator, the concept of direct sum, closed and closable operators, and the relations of adjoints. It also discusses how non-closed operators have a spectrum covering all complex numbers and the properties of essentially self-adjoint symmetric operators.
