This lecture introduces the global food challenges, discussing issues related to food security, nutrition, and society. It covers topics such as the average meal across five continents, sustainability in food production, and the impact of climate change on agriculture. The lecture also explores the relationship between food, health, and genetics, as well as the social, economic, and environmental challenges associated with food consumption. Students will analyze the global demand for meat and dairy products, the consequences of excessive meat consumption, and potential solutions to address food distribution issues. The course aims to develop critical thinking skills and raise awareness of the complex global issues surrounding food.
