This lecture covers the analysis of genotypes and variants information extracted from openSNP data, focusing on conducting a Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) to explore the association between genetic variants and phenotypes like height. The lecture includes data exploration, statistical methods to assess the impact of covariates on phenotypes, linear regression modeling, and visualization techniques such as Manhattan plots. Students will learn how to run GWAS with and without covariates, interpret p-values, compare results, and conduct meta-analysis with the GIANT Study data.
