This lecture discusses the evaporation process of a square water pond near the sea on a summer day, considering wind speed, temperature, humidity, and solar irradiation. The lecture covers the heat and mass transfer correlation laws for laminar and turbulent flows, as well as the convective heat transfer coefficient and evaporative heat transfer coefficient. It also explores the energy flux balance of the water pond volume, the evaporative heat flux, and the net radiative heat flux. Various physical properties of water and air are analyzed, and practical exercises involving the cooling of a canned drink and steady-state temperature calculations are presented.
