This lecture covers the basics of lighting in computer graphics, including surface reflectance, ray tracing approximations, the Phong lighting model with ambient, diffuse, and specular lighting components, as well as the computation of lighting effects, shadows, and reflections. It also explains diffuse and specular reflections, the influence of material properties on light reflection, and the relationship between colors and lighting in RGB components.
