This lecture introduces the fundamental concepts of electromagnetism, covering topics such as electrostatics, magnetostatics, electromagnetic waves, and fluid mechanics. The course aims to provide students with a deep understanding of magnetic properties of nanostructured materials, nanofabrication, microwave properties, magnonics, and spintronics. Through theoretical discussions and practical problem-solving, students will learn to analyze and apply electromagnetism principles to various real-world scenarios. The lecture also explores the historical significance of electromagnetism, celebrating 200 years since the unification of electricity and magnetism by Oersted and Maxwell. Students will engage in exercises, homework, and discussions to enhance their comprehension and problem-solving skills.
