This lecture discusses the anaerobic digestion of kitchen waste in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, focusing on the social, environmental, economical, and health impacts of traditional energy sources. It explores the potential of biogas production from kitchen waste, the technology implemented using ARTI digesters, and the results obtained from different substrates fed into the biogas plant. Additionally, a SWOT analysis is presented, highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of this sustainable waste management approach.
