Lucia Bordone is socio-anthropologist. She is part of the College of Humanities at EPFL, where she started her PhD in 2015 within the Doctoral School in Architecture and Sciences of the City, under the supervision of Florence Graezer Bideau (EPFL) and Filippo De Pieri (Politecnico di Torino). Her research focuses on the issue of collective memory and space in the contemporary city. Her main case study is the city of Rome (Italy) and more specifically the post-industrial periphery of Ostiense.
Before joining EPFL, she worked as a scientific collaborator and consultant for the Institute of Ethics and Human Rights in Fribourg and for the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC).
Her topics of interest and expertise include the relationship between man and materiality (natural and built environment) as well as transmission and memorial processes.
