Born in Bordeaux, Moreau is a former student of the École normale supérieure de Paris (L1987) and member of the Institut universitaire de France. He taught at the Paris 12 Val de Marne University, then at the University of Nantes where he is currently professor of history of modern philosophy and philosophy of religion. His work focuses on two main fields: on the one hand, the history of 17th century philosophy, in particular Descartes and cartesianism, and on the other hand, the philosophy of religion, in particular christianity.
Pierre-André TaguieffPierre-André Taguieff (born 4 August 1946) is a French philosopher who has specialised in the study of racism and antisemitism. He is the director of research at the French National Centre for Scientific Research in an Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris laboratory, the Centre for Political Research (fr). He is also a member of the Cercle de l'Oratoire think tank. Taguieff is the author of a number of books and papers on racism and antisemitism, including The Force of Prejudice: On Racism and Its Doubles (2001) and Rising from the Muck: The New Antisemitism in Europe (2004).
Catherine VidalCatherine Vidal (born July 7 1951) is a French neurobiologist, feminist and essayist. She is the author of popular science books in the field of cognitive differences between genders. She obtained her doctorate in 1986 at Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, under Pierre Buser. Her thesis concerned stress, nociception and body temperature. She pursued a research career at the Pasteur Institute, from 1981 to 2014; she was appointed research director there in 1997 and worked in areas including infection of the brain by the AIDS virus, neuronal death in Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and prion infections.
Pierre Bernard PalassouPierre Bernard Palassou (9 June 1745, Oloron-Sainte-Marie – 9 April 1830, Ogenne-Camptort) was a French naturalist known for pioneer geological and mineralogical studies of the Pyrénées. He was a correspondent member of the Académie des sciences (1816–1830) and an honorary member of the Société linnéenne de Paris (1821). His name is associated with the "Poudingues de Palassou", which are enormous beds of conglomerate rock found in the Pyrénées. Henri René GuieuHenri René Guieu (19 March 1926 – 2 January 2000) was a French science fiction writer and ufologist, who published primarily with the pseudonym Jimmy Guieu. He occasionally used other pseudonyms as well, including Claude Vauzière for a young adult series, Jimmy G. Quint (with Georges Pierquin) for a number of espionage novels, Claude Rostaing for two detective novels and Dominique Verseau for six erotic novels. Guieu was one of the authors published by Fleuve Noir company's Anticipation science fiction imprint.

De dicto and de reDe dicto and de re are two phrases used to mark a distinction in intensional statements, associated with the intensional operators in many such statements. The distinction is used regularly in metaphysics and in philosophy of language. The literal translation of the phrase de dicto is "about what is said", whereas de re translates as "about the thing". The original meaning of the Latin locutions may help to elucidate the living meaning of the phrases, in the distinctions they mark.
