Raymond DugrandRaymond Dugrand (13 January 1925 – 13 February 2017) was a French geographer and urban planner. He was a professor of geography at the University of Montpellier, and the author of several books about the geography of the Languedoc. He was the head of urban planning for the city of Montpellier from 1977 to 2001. He is the namesake of an avenue in Montpellier. Raymond Dugrand was born on 13 January 1925. He joined the French Resistance in Haute-Vienne in 1943, in the midst of World War II.

Abdication of Bảo ĐạiThe abdication of Emperor Bảo Đại (Chiếu thoái vị của Hoàng Đế Bảo Đại) took place on 25 August 1945 and marked the end of the 143-year reign of the Nguyễn dynasty over Vietnam ending the Vietnamese monarchy. Bảo Đại abdicated in response to the August Revolution. A ceremony was held handing power over to the newly established Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which was established during the end of World War II in Asia as Vietnam had been occupied by French and later Japanese imperialists.

The French in their earlier records does mention their interest in establishing trade in the Northern Circars, which lie in the coastal regions of the Hyderabad sultanate. The Northern circars are very important as they sway a big influence in the court of Deccan Subah. This Subah is indeed the most important among all other provinces of the Mughal empire in the Indian peninsula.

After teaching for two years (1964–1966) at the Collège Saint-André of Kigali, Rwanda, as a Canadian Peace Corps (CUSO/SUCO) volunteer, Tellier studied both economics and city planning. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics (1968) and a master's degree in City planning (1971) from the University of Montreal, as well as a master's degree (1971) and a Ph.D.

Mark Bassin was born in 1953. Bassin gained his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in 1983. He has received personal fellowships from the Fulbright Foundation, the Remarque Institute at New York University, the American Academy in Berlin, the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center in Sapporo, and the Leibniz Institute of European History in Mainz.
