Traitement des micropolluants à la STEP - Séparation du charbon actif en poudre par ultrafiltration en mode frontal

Abstract

Les essais pilotes sur l’élimination des micropolluants dans les eaux usées menés en 2009-2010 à la STEP de Vidy (Lausanne) ont montré l’efficacité du charbon actif en poudre à abattre les micropolluants contenus dans les eaux usées. Afin de séparer le charbon actif en poudre de l’eau traitée, plusieurs procédés de séparation ont été examinés. Cette étude montre que la séparation membranaire du charbon actif en poudre, une fois optimisée, présente de nombreux avantages et est réalisable à grande échelle dans les STEP. Le procédé CAP-UF(F) associe l’adsorption sur charbon actif (CAP) à l’ultrafiltration en mode frontal (UF(F)) utilisée dans le traitement de l’eau potable. Ce procédé permet d’atteindre un abattement important des micropolluants (>80%), une filtration complète des matières en suspension et du phosphore lié ainsi qu’une élimination des bactéries et des virus. Les coûts projetés du procédé CAP-UF(F) sont d’environ 0.17 CHF/m3 traité.
