A method for a binder-free manufg. a nanostructured porous film, e.g. for use in solar cells, includes the steps of prepg. a suspension of semiconducting nanoparticles in a volatile suspension agent, depositing the particle suspension on a conducting substrate, removing the suspending agent by evapn., thereby leaving a particle layer on said substrate and compressing the deposited particle layer for mech. and elec. interconnection.
