Abstract

Les Jeux Olympiques, événement planétaire, nécessitent la construction de nombreuses infrastructures dont la plus emblématique est très certainement le Stade Olympique. Pièce maîtresse de la manifestation tant au niveau infrastructurel que symbolique, il fait l'objet d'investissements conséquents. Mais une fois les Jeux terminés, son futur est-il assuré? Le projet prend place à Munich, dont le Stade Olympique, construit pour les jeux de 1972, n'est plus utilisé qu'en de rares occasions depuis 2005. A l'échelle urbaine, le parc olympique est coupé de la ville dans sa partie Ouest par un axe routier important. De plus, le stade constitue aujourd'hui une limite qui sépare les parties Est et Ouest du parc. Il s'agit de reconnecter l'ensemble en rendant le stade, objet introverti par nature, plus perméable. L'intervention consiste à démolir les tribunes Est et à prolonger le système paysager existant, permettant ainsi de requalifier l'intérieur du stade qui passe d'espace de spectacle à espace public. Les gradins Ouest sont quant à eux conservés à l'exception des travées inférieures. Le projet architectural s'inscrit dans le bâti existant sous cette structure qui devient une grande toiture abritant un complexe de sports et loisirs et qui permet, d'autre part, l'organisation de concerts, conservant ainsi la composante du spectacle de manière ponctuelle.
