Max LagarrigueMax Lagarrigue, born in 1972 in Castelsarrasin, is a French historian specialising in rural communism and a journalist. Lagarrigue taught history of communism at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and has published numerous papers including in the magazine Communism published by the Study Group and Democracy Observatory (GEODE) of the National Center for Scientific Research and a book on the charismatic leader of French rural communism Renaud Jean entitled Notebooks a Communist deputy (2001).
Henry de LumleyHenry de Lumley (born 1934 in Marseille) is a French archeologist, geologist and prehistorian. He is director of the Institute of Human Paleontology in Paris, and Professor Emeritus at the Museum of Natural History in Paris. He is also a corresponding member of the Academy of Humanities of the Institute of France and former director of the French National Museum of Natural History.
Eugène MorelEugène Morel (21 June 1869 – 23 March 1934) was a French librarian, writer and literary critic. One of the founders of the Association of French Librarians, Morel contributed greatly to the development of French libraries and librarianship in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Morel graduated as a lawyer from the faculté de droit of the University of Paris in 1869. After a brief literary career he became an assistant librarian at the Bibliothèque nationale in 1892.
4th Foreign Regiment (France)The 4th Foreign Regiment (4e Régiment étranger, 4e RE) is a training regiment of the Foreign Legion in the French Army. Prior to assuming the main responsibility of training Legion recruits, it was an infantry unit which participated in campaigns in Morocco, Levant, French Indochina, and Algeria. Created in November 1920 in Marrakesh, Morocco, the 4th Foreign Regiment became the 4th Foreign Infantry Regiment in 1922. Following its formation, the regiment was engaged in campaigns in Morocco in the Rif War between 1920 and 1934.
Marie-Thérèse CheroutreMarie-Thérèse Cheroutre (17 May 1924 – 4 January 2020) was a French historian and professor of philosophy. She served as general commissioner of Guides de France from 1953 to 1979. Cheroutre was born in 1924. She discovered Scouting just before World War II. After she obtained a degree in philosophy, Cheroutre briefly worked as a teacher. She then moved to Paris became general commissioner of the Guides de France, summoned by Olave Baden-Powell, where she served from 1953 to 1979.
Jacques Pierre BrissotJacques Pierre Brissot (ʒak pjɛʁ bʁiso, 15 January 1754 – 31 October 1793), also known as Brissot de Warville was a French journalist, abolitionist, and revolutionary leading the faction of Girondins, (initially called Brissotins) in the National Convention. In February 1788 Brissot was the founder of the anti-slavery Society of the Friends of the Blacks. From the outbreak of the revolution in July 1789, he became one of its most vocal supporters.
Marie HackinMarie Parmentier, married name Marie Hackin, (1905-1941) was an archaeologist and Resistance member who worked with her husband Joseph Hackin, who also was an archaeologist, philologist, and Resistance member. Marie Hackin's father was from Luxembourg. He works as director of development and cooperations, full-time faculty member, at North American Private University in Sfax, Tunisia. Boisgibault was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He graduated in 1984 with a master's degree in economics and management from Université Paris-Dauphine.
Maurice DuhamelMaurice Duhamel (23 February 1884 – 5 February 1940) was the pen-name of Maurice Bourgeaux, a Breton musician, writer and activist who was a leading figure in Breton nationalism and federalist politics in the years before World War II. The son of a coal merchant, Duhamel was born in Rennes. From youth, he displayed great musical talent, composing his own original works and collecting and arranging traditional Breton songs. He also worked as a journalist for music magazines.
