60 Minutes60 Minutes is an American television news magazine broadcast on the CBS television network. Debuting in 1968, the program was created by Don Hewitt and Bill Leonard, who distinguished it from other news programs by using a unique style of reporter-centered investigation. In 2002, 60 Minutes was ranked number six on TV Guides list of the "50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time", and in 2013, it was ranked number 24 on the magazine's list of the "60 Best Series of All Time".
Ballet MécaniqueBallet Mécanique (1923–24) is a Dadaist post-Cubist art film conceived, written, and co-directed by the artist Fernand Léger in collaboration with the filmmaker Dudley Murphy (with cinematographic input from Man Ray). It has a musical score by the American composer George Antheil. However, the film premiered in a silent version on 24 September 1924 at the Internationale Ausstellung neuer Theatertechnik (International Exposition for New Theater Technique) in Vienna presented by Frederick Kiesler.
Tout-ParisLe Tout-Paris () is a French expression referring to the stylish and affluent elite of Paris, who frequent fashionable events and places, and establish trends in upper-class culture. It is equivalent to the jet set elsewhere. The expression tout-Paris was used in the 17th century to refer to high society among the aristocratic inhabitants of the city of Paris. It was used in 1660 by Nicolas Boileau in his Satires to refer to the influential members of Parisian society who made Pierre Corneille's play El Cid popular, in the famous sentence, "In vain, a minister sought support against El Cid—Tout Paris supported Chimene in love with Rodrigue".
Les LeVequeLes LeVeque is an artist based in New York who works with digital and analog electronic technology. His work includes single and multi-channel videos and video/computer-based installations. LeVeque's work uses algorithmic structures, statistically distributed elements, experimentation with the boundaries of interfaces, and provides new views of existing narratives. In 2014 he is a member of the faculty and co-chair of Film and Video at the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College.
Heritage MinutesThe Heritage Minutes is a series of sixty-second short films, each illustrating an important moment in Canadian history. The Minutes integrate Canadian history, folklore and myths into dramatic storylines. Like the Canada Vignettes of the 1970s, the Minutes themselves have become a part of Canadian culture and been the subject of academic studies as well as parody. The Minutes were first introduced on March 31, 1991, as part of a one-off history quiz show hosted by Wayne Rostad.
Fable for Another TimeFable for Another Time (Féerie pour une autre fois) is a 1952 novel by the French writer Louis-Ferdinand Céline. The narrative recounts Céline's experiences during what seems to be a hypothetical bombing of an area of Montmartre by the allies on the days preceding D-day. The whole of the action of this fairly long narrative lasts no more than twelve hours from the beginning of an evening to the morning after. It was followed by a sequel, Normance, published in 1954.
Les PodervianskyiLes Podervianskyi (Oleksandr "Les'" Serhijovyč Poderv"jans'kyj, ˈlɛsj poderˈwjɑnsjkɪj; born 1952 in Kyiv) is a Ukrainian painter, poet, playwright and performer. He is most famous for his absurd, highly satirical, and at times obscene short plays. Their average duration is five to fifteen minutes, with some exceptions. Podervianskyi has a cult following among Kyiv intellectuals. In 1968 he graduated from the Republican Art School in Kyiv. In 1976 he graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (specialty: easel and monumental painting, graphics, theatrical painting).
Le fléauLe fléau (English: The Plague or The Scourge) is the fourth studio album by Congolese-French singer and rapper Gims, released on 4 December 2020 on the TF1 Group and Play Two labels. A reissue entitled Les vestiges du fléau (English: The Remnants of the Scourge) was published on 28 May 2021. A second reissue titled L'Empire de Méroé was released on 3 December 2021. During confinement, Gims announces on a live Instagram a 100% rap album for the month of October 2020.
2021–2022 Democratic Republic of the Congo attacksAttacks were carried out by various armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2021 and 2022. The attacks have killed 629 and injured 321 (not including rebel casualties). At least 82 perpetrators were also killed and one injured in these attacks. Throughout the conflict, rebel troops have carried out raids and massacres across the DRC, resulting in heavy civilian casualties. In October 2021, the ADF launched a bombing campaign in Uganda, leading to the intervention of the Ugandan military the year later, which has pursued a policy of airstrikes against ADF targets.
ZF Wind Power AntwerpenZF Wind Power Antwerpen is a business unit of ZF Friedrichshafen, that designs, manufactures and supplies wind turbine gearboxes. The company was founded in 1923 in Antwerp under the name La Mécanique Générale (LMG). The company soon focused on the manufacturing of specialized transmission units, under engineer David Hansen. In 1939 the company moved to Edegem, to ensure there was sufficient room for future expansions. In 1950, Hansen founded the subsidiary Machinery & Gear Hansen (MGH).
