Villages of SenegalThe Villages of Senegal are the lowest level administrative division of Senegal. They are constituted "by the grouping of several families or carrés in a single agglomeration.". Villages are grouped together in rural communities. They are administered by an individual entitled village chief (chef du village). At the time of the 1988 census there were villages in Senegal. In 2013, there were Archaeological investigation undertaken in Senegal has established that animal husbandry ad agriculture were practiced in Senegal from the 2nd millennium BC.
Mozes en AäronkerkThe Moses and Aaron Church (Mozes en Aäronkerk, ˌmoːzəs ɛn aːˈʔaːrəŋkɛr(ə)k), in the Waterlooplein neighborhood of Amsterdam, is officially the Roman Catholic Church of St. Anthony of Padua (Sint-Anthoniuskerk). Originally a clandestine church, it was operated by Franciscan priests at a house on Jodenbreestraat ["Jewish Broad Street"], where the wall tablets of Moses and Aaron hung on the wall. In 1970, the present church was designated as a Cultural Heritage Monument (Rijksmonument) of the Netherlands.
Frédéric de LafresnayeBaron Nöel Frédéric Armand André de Lafresnaye (24 July 1783 – 14 July 1861) was a French ornithologist and collector. Lafresnaye was born into an aristocratic family at Chateau de La Fresnaye in Falaise, Normandy. He took an early interest in natural history, particularly entomology. It was only after acquiring a collection of European birds that he turned his attention to ornithology. Lafresnaye described a number of new bird species, some with Alcide d'Orbigny. He accumulated a collection of over 8,000 bird skins at his home.
Bruno Georges PolletBruno Georges Pollet BSc(Hons) MSc PhD FRSC (born in 1969), is a French chemist, electrochemist and electrochemical engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, professor of chemistry, director of the Green Hydrogen Lab, co-director of the Institute for Hydrogen Research (Institut de Recherche sur l'Hydrogène) at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in Canada. He has worked on Hydrogen Energy in the UK, Japan, South Africa, Norway and Canada, and has both industrial and academic experience.
François PéronFrançois Auguste Péron (22 August 1775 – 14 December 1810) was a French naturalist and explorer. Péron was born in Cérilly, Allier, in 1775, the son of a tailor (not a harness maker as is frequently asserted). Although intended for the priesthood, due to the Revolution, Péron reluctantly joined the 2nd Allier Volunteer Battalion in 1792 and helped defend besieged Landau. In the following year he was wounded and taken prisoner by Prussian forces near Hochspeyer in the Pfalzwald.
Crépy-en-ValoisCrépy-en-Valois (kʁepi ɑ̃ valwa, literally Crépy in Valois) is a commune located in the Oise department in northern France. It is located in the Paris Metropolitan Area, northeast of the center of Paris. Crépy-en-Valois was founded in the tenth century by the count of Valois and served as the capital of the Valois county and duchy. During the Middle Ages, the city profited from the Champagne fairs, markets for leather, cloth, spices, and other goods.
Barou-en-AugeBarou-en-Auge (baʁu ɑ̃.n‿oʒ, literally Barou in Auge) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region of north-western France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Conias. Barou-en-Auge is located some 10 km north-east of Falaise and 8 km south of Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives. Access to the commune is by the D90 road from Louvagny in the north which passes through the centre of the commune and the village before continuing south to Le Marais-la-Chapelle.
Saint-Germain-en-LayeSaint-Germain-en-Laye (sɛ̃ ʒɛʁmɛ̃ ɑ̃ lɛ) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, from the centre of Paris. Inhabitants are called Saint-Germanois or Saint-Germinois. With its elegant tree-lined streets it is one of the more affluent suburbs of Paris, combining both high-end leisure spots and exclusive residential neighborhoods (see the Golden Triangle of the Yvelines). Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a sub-prefecture of the department.
Île AmsterdamÎle Amsterdam (ilamstɛʁdam), also known as Amsterdam Island and New Amsterdam (Nouvelle-Amsterdam), is an island of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands in the southern Indian Ocean that together with neighbouring Île Saint-Paul to the south forms one of the five districts of the territory. The island is roughly equidistant to the land masses of Madagascar, Australia, and Antarctica – as well as the British Indian Ocean Territory and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (about from each).
HLMAn habitation à loyer modéré (HLM, aʃ ɛl ɛm, housing at moderate rent), is a form of low-income housing in France, Algeria, Senegal, and Quebec. It may be public or private, with rent subsidies. HLMs constitute 16% of all housing in France. There are approximately four million such residences, housing an estimated 10 million people. The standard of living in the HLM housing projects is often the lowest in the country. 72% of French HLMs built before 2001 (and 95% of those built between 2001 and 2011) are small buildings or individual houses.
