Mexico City is one of the biggest cities in the world and its heart, the Historic Centre, is one of the oldest colonial cities on the American continent. The heritage making-process while preserves the old cities, such as historic centres, tends to promote a consistent and unified collective memory narrative about places. Usually, this selective feature tent to neglect or deny alternative memories and perceptions about history of the city. This vision of space menaces other forms of cultural expression, usually those that come from the popular groups, such as those of the street vendors. This presentation aims challenge official narrative about the street vending and analysing the resistance to eviction by using visual methods, thus identifying the spatial strategies and physical elements that express their resistance.
