The Chair of Mathematical General Relativity at EPFL focuses on open questions related to the dynamics of the Einstein field equations in General Relativity, particularly studying instability phenomena such as the Friedman ergo-sphere instability and the instability of anti-de Sitter spacetime. Headed by Georgios Moschidis, the laboratory's research interests include General Relativity, Partial Differential Equations, and Differential Geometry. Moschidis's groundbreaking work includes providing a rigorous proof of the instability of AdS for the Einstein-massless Vlasov system, transforming the understanding of large-data phenomena in solutions of the Einstein equations.
