The Institute of Bioengineering (IBI) at EPFL conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of engineering, physics, chemistry, computer science, and life sciences. With a focus on bioimaging, biophysics, nano- and microscale bioengineering, and neuroengineering, IBI faculty investigate fundamental biophysical processes, biological networks regulation, cellular behavior control, stem cell fate, and more. They develop innovative technologies for drug delivery, immunotherapy, tissue engineering, biosensors, neuroprosthetics, and physiological modeling. The institute offers Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programs in Life Sciences Engineering, Biotechnology, and Bioengineering, as well as summer research programs for students interested in research careers.
