The Swiss Institute of Research on Cancer (ISREC) at EPFL's School of Life Sciences focuses on a wide spectrum of biological systems related to cancer development, cell homeostasis, and organ development. Research includes genetically engineered mouse models of human cancer, investigating resistance mechanisms to cancer therapy, and studying signalling pathways in embryogenesis and organogenesis. ISREC's strategic goals involve advancing understanding of cancer biology and genetics, developing new therapeutic strategies, fostering collaboration within EPFL and the Swiss Cancer Center Leman, and training students at all career levels. Directed by Prof. Elisa Oricchio, ISREC comprises 13 core and 3 affiliated faculty members who engage in interdisciplinary research and collaborations with other EPFL institutes and the SCCL.
