The Laboratory of Astrophysics (LASTRO) at EPFL is a leading research unit with a focus on advanced research and education in the field of astrophysics. With a presence at two locations, LASTRO plays a key role in international projects related to extragalactic astrophysics and observational cosmology. The research team is actively involved in projects such as the Square Kilometre Array Observatory and the development of supercomputing infrastructure for processing astronomical data efficiently. LASTRO's work revolves around observations of extragalactic objects, detailed modelling of the cosmos, and testing various theories of astrophysics, with expertise in Dark Energy & Dark Matter, Cosmological Parameters, and Galaxy Formation & Evolution.
