Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Reliability Analysis
LaboratoryThe Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Reliability Analysis (LMAF) at EPFL offers basic and advanced courses in mechanics of solids and structures for mechanical engineering students. Research at LMAF focuses on damage and fracture of composites, reliability analysis, contact mechanics, dynamics, and biomechanics. The lab collaborates with academic partners in Switzerland, Europe, and the United States, and receives funding from various federal and local agencies. LMAF is equipped to tackle R&D challenges in industry, with expertise in vibrations, modal analysis, experimental mechanics, and numerical analysis of mechanical systems.
