The Laboratory of Soil Mechanics at EPFL, under the direction of Professor Lyesse Laloui, focuses on developing innovative geotechnical solutions for a sustainable future. Their research activities include energy geostructures, nuclear waste storage, bio-improved soils, CO2 storage, behavior of shales, and landslide analysis. The lab is actively involved in projects like BIGALPS, which explores biocementation at a field scale, and research on energy geostructures revealing complex mechanical responses.
