The Chaire de la Prof. ordinaire Lambertini at EPFL focuses on the analysis of monetary and fiscal policies within general equilibrium macroeconomic models. Research projects include adjustment mechanisms in currency unions, regulation in the banking sector, and the interaction between monetary and fiscal policies. Publications cover topics such as the gender effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Swiss labor market, mortgage supply and capital regulation in a low-interest rate environment, and the pass-through of bank capital requirements to corporate lending spreads. The team also explores the macroeconomic implications of the recent financial crisis, incorporating financial factors into macroeconomic models to understand the amplification mechanisms of crises and evaluate policy proposals.
