The Section Neuro-X at EPFL's School of Life Sciences focuses on cutting-edge research at the interface of engineering and biology, with a particular emphasis on advancing the understanding of the living world and solving biomedical problems. Through innovative methods such as biological nanopores and deep learning, the section aims to uncover new insights into human evolution, health, and disease diagnostics. Additionally, the section offers educational programs in Life Sciences Engineering and Neuro-X, along with doctoral programs, fostering a vibrant interdisciplinary research community. The section also provides opportunities for early career scientists through programs like the EPFL Life Sciences Independent Research Scholar (ELISIR), which supports exceptional researchers in establishing their independent research groups to conduct groundbreaking research in various areas of life sciences.
