The Unite de la Prof. Zenk, also known as the EpiGN laboratory, focuses on unraveling the intricate processes of human brain development using brain organoids, single-cell genomics, and computational tools. By cultivating brain organoids from induced pluripotent stem cells, the laboratory studies the emergence of diverse cell fates and the development of distinct brain regions. Through single-cell epigenomic techniques, they analyze the changes in the epigenome underlying developmental plasticity and reconstruct the gene regulatory networks governing embryonic brain development. Additionally, the lab investigates the functional roles of chromatin modifiers within brain organoids to understand their impact on brain development.
